Eco-tourism – how we’re making a difference

As an eco-friendly business, we believe in taking steps to reduce our environmental impact. That’s why we have incorporated a number of sustainable practices into our daily operations.

Recycling is one of the simplest ways to start making an impact. We’ve set up recycling bins for our guests to separate their waste, and provide a guide to what can be recycled.

We also have a composting system in place to reduce the amount of food waste we generate. We collect fruit and veg peelings, coffee, tea bags, and egg shells, and turn them into nutrient-rich soil for our garden.

Log piles, and slightly unkempt areas of the garden are habitats for all sorts of wildlife.

Our garden is also kept as bee-friendly as possible, as we know how important these valuable pollinators are for the environment.

Rainwater is collected to use in our garden, which helps to conserve water and reduce our usage.

We also use LED lights in all our rooms, and have upgraded large electrical appliances as they are far more energy-efficient and help to reduce our carbon footprint.

We also use a range of environment-friendly cleaning products throughout our rental.

You’ll find Who gives a Crap toilet paper in the wc., and the tissues and kitchen roll are from them too. They give half their profits to help provide sanitation and clean water to communities in need throughout the world.

Finally, we have sourced locally made artisan soaps for our bathrooms.
